About Nat Ripepi

Considered one of Perth’s solid musical exports Nat Ripepi has been performing professionally since 1996, and is recognised as being one of Perth’s most popular and hardest working artists.

From solo to duo and band shows all over Australia, Nat receives rave reviews along the way. She has also toured extensively throughout the UK and parts of Europe.

Nat has been nominated for several WAMI Awards (Western Australian Music Industry Awards) including most popular acoustic act and most popular female vocalist. Nat has also received two nominations in the WAMI Song of the Year Awards with ‘Stronger’ and ‘I Will Not Fall’ and was a finalist in the Dandenong Ranges Folk Festival Songsmith Award in Victoria with the song ‘Universe’. She has also supported many high profile artists including Pat Benatar, The Bangles, Billy Bragg, The Waifs, Ben Folds Five, Luka Bloom, Kate Ceberano, Deborah Conway, Tex Perkins, Jonathon Richmond, Mark Seymour, Tiddas, James Blundel and James Morrison.

Ripepi has released 2 full length albums, the most recent being "Piece By Piece" which was released on Oct 30th 2010 and "Universe" which was released in July of 2000. She has also released several Eps - "Sister Soul", "Live at 12Bar Club London" and "The Moment" which were all limited release and have all sold out.

"Piece By Piece" has been selling steadily since it's release and has received worldwide airplay and rave reviews.

"Universe" debuted at #3 in the Mills Records Independent Chart and #8 in the 78 Records Chart (both Perth). It also gained widespread international airplay on both commercial and independent radio. It is now into its third pressing.

Nat lived in the UK between 2002-2004 where she gigged regularly and quickly gained a loyal following. As well as 'Universe', she released a live EP in the UK which sold out in a matter of weeks.

Nat moved back to Perth in late 2004, but retuned to the UK in mid 2005 for an 8 week self funded tour that saw her perform 17 gigs in 11 cities across the UK and including Ireland. This year, Nat was awarded one of ArtsWA’s lucrative Contemporary Music Touring Grants, enabling her to return in August 2007 for a hugely successful 6 week follow-up solo tour of the UK, Ireland and Greece – with new EP ‘The Moment’ in tow.

Nat is planning to make a long overdue visit to North America and Canada to capitalise on exposure she received after being showcased on an American travel program called ‘Round Trip Ticket’, which aired repeatedly on MTV network station, Logo, a station catering to LGBT community with an audience of about 14 million viewers.
